World Mission Offering is a Vitally Important Tool

A lot has happened this last month. The work team to Congo has returned. Ed has tried to get a visa transferred to his new passport so he could come to the States to visit churches. That attempt was unsuccessful. Miriam's Father passed away, and their daughter Reba has recovered from a bout of serious illness.

Here are some prayer items for the next month:

  • Ed will get his missionary resident visa into his new passport. This will allow Ed to leave and return to D.R. of Congo and work without worry about a short term visa if he leaves and returns.
  • Pray for a good peanut crop this year. Peanuts are a major source of protein for Congolese families. Last year a blight caused problems. This year with some hopefully disease free seed we are praying for a successful crop. That will be harvested in December, planted in September.
  • New importation of improved palm trees will be planted and cared for in a timely way. Praise the Lord seedlings arrived in good shape this year. Now the task of distribution and planting.
  • Presidential Elections on October 29 will be orderly. Following the primary results there was a lot of armed conflict. We pray that there will not be more of the same following the run off elections. Both candidates have their armies. Pray that Congolese citizens and missionaries alike will be safe during this time.
  • Praise the Lord for Reba's recovery from illness. Pray for her continued health. Also pray for guidance as Reba makes decisions on her education goals during her third year in college.
