Kim Kushner
Kim was recently commissioned to serve in both regional and local ministry projects in Latin America and the Caribbean. Based in El Salvador, she will offer her experience and passion for community development and equipping local leaders as she partners with local grassroots leadership and development projects initiated by the Baptist Federation of El Salvador (FEBES).
She writes: So… finally, I have the GREAT SATISFACTION of giving the answer
we’ve all been waiting for. After months of preparing, fundraising, and what
seemed like a lot of “hurry-up and wait,” the moment has finally arrived to
head to El Salvador.
(Kim left for El Salvador
on July 30.) THANK YOU to each of you who have encouraged me and walked with me
as I have prepared for this new ministry. Special thanks to each of you who
have become financial supporters as well as encouragers.
As I reflect on the past months I am especially grateful for lots of time to be
with family and friends. The trouble with this international living business is
that you never quite know when the next visit will be.
I will arrive in San Salvador just in time to attend the Reunión de Pastoras where women pastors from Central America and the Caribbean will join together. After the conference I’ll head to Zacatecoluca where I’ll spend the month of August acclimating, visiting a variety projects in the area, and at the end of the month will meet up with a team from Oregon City that has a long standing partnership with a church in Zacatecoluca.
- Please keep me in your prayers as I step in to several months of transition, new relationships, and more moments of “hurry up and wait”.
