William “Bill” Thomas is an international evangelist based in Strasbourg, France. He has been living in Europe for the past 40 years. Bill has ministered in 59 countries, holding evangelistic missions and training seminars in English, French and Spanish. Bill serves in France at the invitation of the Federation of Evangelical Baptist Churches of France. He works with the Federation to train pastors and church leaders in evangelism and discipleship and to engage in direct evangelistic preaching events. Bill is able to accept invitations to do evangelism and leadership training also with groups outside the French Federation, including local American Baptist churches.

He writes: ON THE HOME FRONT: In the city of Mulhouse, a 1 hour 50 minute drive from Strasbourg, there is a group called OASIS whose leaders are Glauser Markus and Mustapha Najem, full-time French workers with WEC (World Evangelization Crusade). This is the group I linked up with for the 4th of July weekend. We also had the help from LIFE AGAPE MOSAIQUE (LAM, which is a ministry of Campus Crusade). Forty members of the group came to Mulhouse. With LAM was a music group from Istanbul, Turkey.

In the mornings, we went out on the streets contacting people, inviting them to a kermes (festival) for children and to a giant barbecue for all ages. These events were held at a local church and attended by 250 people, a very international crowd. A Salvation Army ministry called ACTION QUARTIER was in charge of the children's program which included a lot of games and singing.

In Strasbourg, following up the Oriental Evening, eight of us have been meeting weekly with those  who came to Christ. Some of them have asked for baptism at the next baptismal service scheduled for the end of August at the Pentecostal Church. Recently I talked with one of the men who told me a story which indicates his commitment to Christ. A lady invited him to do some work for her on a Sunday morning, and he refused it saying to her, "No, I'm going to church on Sunday morning, but I'll come and help you in the afternoon."

CONGO: KINSHASA, August 1 - 10. Six of us are making this trip. I will be preaching an Open Air Campaign for six nights. The others will be teaching seminars during the day, in churches and at the university.
