These children are lucky. Their parents can afford to send them to boarding school. Government schools are few and far between, leaving children in remote areas with no education and little hope of breaking the cycle of poverty.
Goal: $100 to educate one child
About this Mission Project
The Tirap District in the state of Arunachal Pradesh in Northeast India is very remote. Located near the borders of Myanmar and Nepal, this is a new mission field for the Baptist Churches of India.
Schools are few and the literacy rate in Tirap is very low. Children spend their days helping their parents in the fields or with household chores. Families are too poor to send their children to the cities for education.
The Council of Churches of Northeast India (CBCNEI) wants to establish schools in the Tirap district. Not only will an education give the children hope and brighter future, it open doors for sharing the Gospel with their parents.
- $100 will give one child an education for a year.
- $250 will send three children to school for a year.
- $500 gives six children the chance for an education.
Mission Project Specifics
This project seeks to raise $10,000 to establish a mission school in the Tirap District of Arunachal Pradesh in remote northeast India. The purpose is to provide education to hundreds of under-served children who have little or no hope of going to school. This project will be managed by Latong Mossang, the Executive Sercretary of the Tutsa Baptist Churches in CBCNEI. It is anticipated that this project will improve the overall education of the community, reduce unemployment, and open doors for sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
